How do get a guy to like you?

I am with this guy, who I adore but he wants to have sex and has alot going on . I want to know if he really loves me before I think about taking this relationship further.

I have this boyfriend that is extreamly shy, but I want him to make the first moves. I’m lame and traditional like that (not to mention shy myself.) I give hints but they all go unnoticed or unheeded. What should I do?

price range about $50 to $250, don’t think he wants an ipod.. i don’t know his tastes too well, but he has helped me a lot and i wish to let him know how much he is appreciated.

My best mate is a guy, we know each other’s secrets and all the other best matey stuff. ‘We’ decided we shouldn’t date because we are so close and we didn’t want to spoil what we have.
However,
he now has a girlfriend and I am so immensely jealous, she’s a friend of mine and I shouldn’t feel like I do about her, but obviously I do.
We have decided that if we are both single when we are 30 we will get together, thinking it will never happen.
Have I been watching too many chick-lit films with thinking that I only have to tell him how much I love him and he will fall into my arms?
