haha its very difficult to calculate, but we estimate it to be between 20,000 – 25,000 gallons….

im digging my pond by hand and yours doesnt look like a 20,000 gallon pond. it looks more like a 10,000 gallon pond .

how can you possibly have enough information to tell me how many gallons of water are in my pond. You do not know the length width or depth of it.
so basically your just guessing….and judging by the fact you havent even dug your pond yet you are probably the least qualified here to ‘guess’.

nice pond m8, ive got about 15 koi in my garden pond. do u have a bottom drain and is it useful. (i dont have 1 but thinking if i should add 1 or not)

yes i have four bottom drains that lead into the filters, they are very good at clearing the bottom of the pond.

beautiful pond mate. do you have any problems with herons? i’ve got a small pond in my parents’ garden and the fish often get taken my the bloody herons. i think it might be because the pond is near the dee estuary (lots of wildlife etc.) i don’t really want to have to put a net over the pond. any other ideas?

touch wood never had a problem, one did come to the pond once, but couldnt get down to the water level so flew off!!!

whoa! that must of cost a packet just started work on building my 3rd pond and if it’s only half as nice as this i will be happy thats a real master-peice.
